Freedom Trail attractions - Old State House The walking tour of "Colonial Boston" is an exciting 4-kilometer historical route known as the "Freedom Trail" since 1951. We will pass through 16 key historical landmarks of the city, including:

  • Boston Common – the oldest city park in the USA, founded in 1634;
  • Massachusetts State House, built in 1798, where the state legislature is located;
  • Park Street Church, founded in 1809, which played a significant role in the abolitionist movement and other social reforms;
  • Granary Burying Ground – the resting place of many notable figures, including Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Robert Treat Paine, signers of the Declaration of Independence;
  • Old South Meeting House – where colonists gathered to discuss and plan the Boston Tea Party in 1773;
  • Old State House – Boston's oldest public building, constructed in 1713, where the Declaration of Independence was read in 1776;
  • Boston Massacre Site – where British soldiers fired on a crowd of protesters in 1770, a pivotal event leading up to the American Revolution;
  • Faneuil Hall – known as the "Cradle of Liberty," where meetings and debates inspired colonists to fight for independence;
  • Paul Revere House, the home of the famous midnight rider who warned the colonists of the approaching British. The house, built in 1680, is the oldest building in downtown Boston.
